How to review a draft (AfC)

Drafts marked Awaiting review were submitted by their creator through Articles for Creation. Anyone can review them — you do not need to be an admin. Work through these checks before deciding:

1. Notability first. Does the subject have significant coverage in reliable, independent sources? If there is no sign the subject could ever meet the notability guidelines, it should not be accepted.
2. Read the sources, not just the text. Open the references. Blogs, press releases, the subject's own website and social media do not establish notability on their own.
3. Check for problems. Advertising tone, copyright violations copied from websites, unsourced claims about living people, and machine-translated or garbled text all need fixing before acceptance.
4. Open the Review link (the draft page) to read the draft content and review it.

After reviewing

• Good enough, even if short: if a draft is notable and the basics are in place, move it to the main (article) namespace with a stub tag instead of deleting it or leaving it to rot — a short article with basic information is better than losing a notable topic. The creator or other editors can expand it later.
• Not ready yet: decline it on the talk page with a clear, friendly reason and tell the creator exactly what to fix (more independent sources, neutral tone, etc.). Many creators are new editors — a specific reason gets the draft fixed; a bare rejection does not.
• Hopeless cases: spam, hoaxes, clear advertisements and copyright violations can go straight to deletion with the Delete link (admins only can complete the deletion).
• Abandoned drafts: drafts untouched for over six months are flagged here as G13 eligible — they may be deleted under the G13 criterion, but check first whether the topic is notable before nominating.
